I was born and raised in North Dakota. It is a beautiful place on this Earth. Wide open, great expanses of vistas, almost too much to take in by the human eye and keep in ones site. Overwhelming at times, feels lonely, yet there is so much life all around. All you need to do is look into the grasses and listen so much life. It is so soft and gentle. Constant the wind and breezes always present spiritual.
From time unremembered, I have always loved photography. My first great patron was my Grandfather Leer. He always gave me a subscription to Arizona Highways each Christmas. He loved photography too. My first darkroom was in my parents attic, a refuge, if you will. Complete with safe lights, developing trays and a line to hang negatives and developed photos. Dark and quiet and, peaceful and, always the music Yes, the music completed the refuge. Back, in the day, black and white was all I had to work with. It was good. It is still my passion. .
Today, I live in Minneapolis and take every opportunity to travel to North Dakota and also poke along obscure Minnesota roads with my dog Misha. She is afraid of cows I will make a country girl out of her yet!!!
